This song has actually helped me with my faith, along with several of their other songs. They are one of the most impactful bands for me that I’ve ever listened to. The songs these guys have written amaze me. Such genuineness and sincerity in their words and voices. Marc Martel also has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. Not a compliment I’ve ever paid to anyone before.

I found Downhere by looking for a Christian band that sounded like Queen. And as we all know, Marc Martel got the Freddie Mercury comparisons all the time! I remember reading a review of this album back then and the reviewer said something like if Downhere is supposed to be a Christian version of Queen, then this album is Downhere's "A Night at The Opera." I'll go one further and say this song is Downhere's "Bohemian Rhapsody!"

If May and Taylor end up touring with this dude they had fucking better include this song on the setlist I don't care if it's preachy this work needs to be honoured!

O Lord ,so many thing passed and so much more to come .The pain ,hapineess ,emptiness , depravity,richies .But ,you will be with me throughout all of these things and till the end of my life and after it as well Your presence is permanent source on which i can rely on for peace , strength and victory in all situations.😊

How many times I have stood at the line of surrender and revolted out of fear. John 11:40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”. Our fear of letting go of the idols is symptomatic of our need for him. It's not so much about letting go of the old as it is taking hold of the new. Sweet grace and mercy and love.

I am hearing this for the first time. I am a fan but for some reason, this one escaped me. This song made me stop and think and yeah I am wearing it out because every line was an experience of my own. It's like when I was feeling abdominal pain after much work and discomfort I told my wife I was going to the hospital to check what's up. She said, I will drive you and I said no thanks it's cool, probably just gas. So I drove myself to the VA Medical Center and sat in the emergency room and after about an hour I felt the the spirit of God saying, "I want to use you." I thought God was going to do an Aha moment. I said, I am here Lord, use me. Suddenly I am called back and told I am being admitted for an appendectomy first thing in the morning. After the surgery, I was rushed to ICU coughing up blood. I thought I was going to drown in my own blood, and this Marine is apologizing as he is trying to siphon my lungs. I am repeating Isaiah 40:31 and after a very excruciating fight my body slumped and a technician ran to tell his Chief he was seeing a miracle. I asked God did I had to do the whole drowning bit? He said, "Peter did not like that part either." 12 hours later I am walking out of ICU on my own and fine and the technician gave his life to Christ. I want to earn treasure up in heaven but if God told me what I would have to do I may just pick a simple stroll and a fight with a horsefly. How can we be overcomers if we do not overcome I guess. I know long huh

This was and is my favorite song , (also love 'how many kings'). I simply cannot get my mind around this kind of profound intersection on the things of the Lord, then walking away to do the Queen tour! This guy is in my prayers. Thanks Germaine for holding the standard!

Marc is truly gifted. I have seen him many times and I thoroughly enjoy every single performance. How fortunate we are to have his voice. He has brought the sound of Freddie Mercury back while totally being himself. God bless him and this song is amazing. 💜 🎄 🎵

Still gives me chills & I always tear up at the lyrics. With Christmas coming, I had to come back to it once again (well, & Marc Martel’s vocals, which utterly astound me are always a draw). This song has extra special meaning this season. My brother in law passed a few months ago (pancreatic cancer) & loved this song so much he had his son sing it at his memorial. So thank you, Downhere for penning and recording this one. It means so much. ❤
